• Question: If someone asks you what you do, and you tell them that you are a scientist, do they ever go wow?

      Hahaha sometimes that happens alright! I think there is still an idea that to be a scientist, you must be a total brainbox, which isn’t true, so people tend to think that you must be super smart! But overall I think people think it’s just a really interesting job to have.

      Sometimes! All science is cool, but sometimes it’s hard to explain what you do. My science is pretty easy to explain so that helps! I think everyone has seen a gorilla on the tv before and people know what volcanoes look like! I think people like the fact that we do something so we’re so interested in, not just to make money or become famous

      haha, sometimes! and sometimes they show genuine interest by asking even more questions about my research, which is always nice 🙂

      Well, sometimes yes, when I say I do research in quantum theory, study quantum computers and quantum teleportation. However I find it very difficult to explain what I do, because the maths involved can be quite tricky!
