Great question. You’re not going to believe this, but Cheetahs has been timed at 110 km/ hr! That’s faster than you’re allowed to drive on most roads in Ireland! They can’t run like this for very long though as it takes a lot of energy.
I once saw a cheetah running this fast on runway in South Africa. We tried to drive along side it but it was too fast! It disappeared into the distance even though we were in a car.

Hi Natasha, Cheetahs are reallllllyyyy fast! I ve seen one in action… and boy am I glad that they don’t see humans as food because it would be very hard (impossible even) to outrun them. So, how fast do they run? At 120 km/h, the cheetah can run faster than any other land animal! hope that helps 🙂

On a side note, if any of ye guys are in Cork schools, Fota Wildlife Park do a Cheetah run every day at lunchtime – its amazing to see the Cheetahs in action because like Angela said, you are pretty glad you’re not their dinner!
