Great question. Dogs evolved from wolves! All dogs have almost the exact same genes as wolves in the wild! Which is very cool. They look different from wolves because we have bred them to look like certain things. And we keep them looking like that by only allowing them to breed with other dogs that look similar. If we left all dogs to breed together again they might just end up looking like wolves again!
