• Question: Is it true that only 10% of the ocean has been discovered?

      Hi Leah,
      Well it turns out the figure is even LESS than that! According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association in America, we’ve only explored less than 5% of the ocean! Though we’ve mapped a lot of the areas near the land, all those deep water areas are still a complete mystery!
      Imagine that, it covers 70% of the earth and we’ve only seeing 5% of it! Who knows what’s down there.

      Hi Leah! you re doing great with your questions 🙂 Sadly, yes. We actually know more about the moon’s surface than we do about the ocean. 12 men have stepped foot on the moon, but only two have been to the Mariana Trench, which is the deepest part of the ocean. There are so many places in the ocean that we haven’t been to yet… 95 percent of it remains unmapped… but I m working on it 🙂 I m discovering new things about it every day, but it’s so big, it’ll take time before we discover all it’s mysterious treasures.
